Fady Chaccour PhotoFady Chaccour is a Marine Corps veteran and accomplished financial services professional with more than three decades of experience in the industry. Since 1991, he has been dedicated to helping individuals and owners of small, closely held and family-owned businesses navigate complex financial planning needs, including succession planning, ownership transitions, risk management, and long-term wealth preservation, with thoughtful, comprehensive solutions.

Fady holds multiple professional designations, including Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Certified Financial Fiduciary (CFF®), and Certified College Advisor (CCA®). He is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative with First Heartland Capital and First Heartland Consultants. He also holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 registrations, along with Life/Health and Property & Casualty insurance licenses.

His areas of expertise include comprehensive financial planning, encompassing insurance and risk management, retirement planning, wealth accumulation and transfer strategies, charitable planning, estate and tax planning, and business planning.

Outside of his professional work, Fady devotes his time to his family and to philanthropic efforts. He is an active member of his Parish Council, where he has served in roles ranging from Treasurer to Chairperson. He also serves as a Board Member of the American Foundation for Auxilia and previously served on the Board of the Cleveland Chapter of the American Diabetes Association.

Matthew Matheney, JD

Matthew Matheney PhotoAfter more than 25 years of providing legal counsel to clients ranging from individuals and business owners to national banks and Fortune 500 companies, Matthew Matheney founded his own law firm to deliver more personalized, client-focused service. Concentrating on estate planning and business law, his practice includes wills and trusts, business succession planning, contracts and terms and conditions, corporate formation, and the purchase and sale of businesses.

In 2023, Matt became an Investment Advisor, expanding his ability to help clients plan comprehensively for their financial futures. In December 2025, he partnered with his longtime Marine Corps friend, Fady, and officially joined Building Blocks Financial Planning.

Matt served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and brings the Corps’ core values of honor, courage, and commitment to every aspect of his practice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Wooster in 1995 and his Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1998. In 2023 Matt obtained his Series 65 License—Investment Adviser Representatives (IARs).

Matt lives in Chagrin Falls with his wife, Bridey, their two sons, Colm and Finn, and their English Labrador, Maeve. Outside of his practice, he values time spent with family and enjoys being part of the local community.
